Hidden in the winding alleyways of Vieux Nice, just behind the Cathedral Sainte-Réparate, Arteficius Design Studio unveils Casa Rosa — a meticulously renovated pied-à-terre that captures the filtered light and layered charm of the Old Town.
With only 27 square metres to work with, Arteficius transformed this once-forgotten studio into an immersive year-round retreat. Drawing from the sunbaked hues of the Côte d’Azur and the vibrant patina of local façades, Casa Rosa features a peach-toned palette, golden niches, salmon Moroccan zellige tiles, and oriental arches. The space balances Mediterranean tradition with subtle exotic references, creating a warm, textured atmosphere that feels timeless yet contemporary.
“Designing Casa Rosa was about distilling the spirit of Vieux Nice into a small space,” says Simona Auteri, founder of Arteficius. “We wanted to honour the filtered lights, the historic textures, and the soulful stillness of this neighbourhood, while introducing refined artisanal elements.”
“Casa Rosa is a reflection of our ethos: small spaces can carry great emotional weight,” says Simona Auteri, founder and principal of Arteficius. “Every element, every surface, every beam of light was considered to create not just a home, but an atmosphere.”
